Hi Everyone!
I suppose it’s time that I introduce myself. Bear with me…this is my first blog EVER! I’m hoping I get better at this the more my business grows.
My name is Jenn Plante and I run (you guessed it) Jenn Plante Photography. My journey with photography started quite some time ago. I was a freshman in high school and just got cut from basketball tryouts (I’m not very athletic- I don’t know what I was thinking). A friend caught me moping down the hallway and suggested I join the newspaper club with him. I though “sure, why not”?
Well it turns out newspaper club is where everything came together for me. Our school’s paper (AHS Weekly) was a weekly newspaper that had not skipped a week since 1979. It was taken very seriously in our school. I quickly was thrown a camera and told to go out and shoot some sporting events. One sporting event turned into many many events including school dances, concerts, pep rallies and everything in between. This is where I learned how to use a DSLR and Photoshop. By my junior year I became photography editor (which was a title normally reserved for seniors only). This is a position that I still take great pride in receiving.
High school turned to college though and photography became less of a priority as I was majoring in Athletic Training. Don’t think for a second though that I didn’t have my little point and shoot camera out at every party! I graduated from University of Vermont in 2010 and immediately started working as an athletic trainer at a local high school and physical therapy clinic.
Well I got to that age where every person you know gets married all at once and with every wedding (there was a lot) I wished I had the wedding photographer’s job. I bought my first DSLR camera in 2012 and that only increased my desire to be a professional. After while my husband convinced me to give it a shot and here we are! I’ve been doing wedding photography, engagement photos, family photos, portraits and everything in between ever since and I LOVE it!
